Sending a Signal through a Gas

چکیده
The discovery of nitric oxide as a signaling molecule began with studies on the mechanism by which blood vessels relax and constrict, processes known as vasodilation and vasoconstriction. In addition to their desire to understand the basic biology of these processes, scientists recognized its medical importance, as drugs that promote vasodilation could aid in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. Nitroglycerin, long used to treat angina pectoris, was known to promote vasodilation. When applied to isolated blood vessels, nitroglycerin and other nitrogen-containing compounds had been found to activate a signaling pathway that began by stimulating the production of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), and eventually resulted in dilation. There was much interest in discovering the natural signal for this process. In vivo, vasodilation was known to occur after stimulation of vessels by the neurotransmitter acetylcholine. However, uncovering the mechanism of this response was hindered by a puzzling finding by Robert Furchgott. In his research on the constriction and relaxation of blood vessels, Furchgott was using isolated rabbit aorta as a model system. He found that adding the neurotransmitter acetylcholine to section of isolated rabbit aorta in vitro caused SENDING A SIGNAL THROUGH A GAS

Real Time Pseudo-Range Correction Predicting by a Hybrid GASVM model in order to Improve RTDGPS Accuracy
Differential base station sometimes is not capable of sending correction information for minutes, due to radio interference or loss of signals. To overcome the degradation caused by the loss of Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS) Pseudo-Range Correction (PRC), predictions of PRC is possible. In this paper, the Support Vector Machine (SVM) and Genetic Algorithms (GAs) will be incorpor...

The aim of this study was to provide a new model for identifying the sources and sources of waste gas in Mahdishahr city gas department and to define corrective measures and prioritize measures to help managers to make appropriate decisions to reduce waste gas. The research method is descriptive-analytical in terms of nature and is applied in terms of purpose. The statistical sample of the rese...
متن کاملSensitivity analysis of time lapse gravity for monitoring fluid saturation changes in a giant multi-phase gas reservoir located in south of Iran
The time lapse gravity method is a widely used technique to monitor the subsurface density changes in time and space. In hydrocarbon reservoirs, the density variations are due to different factors, such as: substitution of fluids with high density contrast, water influx, gas injection, and the variation in reservoir geomechanical behavior. Considering the monitoring of saturation changes in the...

We propose a method for the detection of ground state quantum phases of spinor gases through a series of two quantum nondemolition measurements performed by sending off-resonant, polarized light pulses through the gas. Signatures of various mean-field as well as strongly correlated phases of F=1 and F=2 spinor gases obtained by detecting quantum fluctuations and mean values of polarization of t...
متن کاملA fault tolerance routing protocol considering defined reliability and energy consumption in wireless sensor networks
In wireless sensor networks, optimal consumptionof energy and having maximum life time are important factors. In this article attempt has been made to send the data packets with particular reliability from the beginning based on AODV protocol. In this way two new fields add to the routing packets and during routing and discovering of new routes, the lowest remained energy of nodes and route tra...
